Hi there and welcome to FoodHealthy; very glad to see you here.
The reason for this blog is to journal my way from fat to fabulous! LOL. I’m a 50 year old man who’s current health is a ticking timebomb.
I’m 5′ 11″, and I weigh 367lbs (166.8kg or 26 stone 3lb). My father, uncle and aunt are all type II diabetic and all have had problems with their lower limb joints that have led to some of them undergoing total knee replacements.
I don’t want to join them so I’m taking back control and making changes.
WHY DO I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE?
Obesity is one of the world’s most common health problems and affects every age range. Being obese makes a lot of things difficult from sex to exercise to sleeping. It affects self-esteem, self-confidence and other people’s opinions of you.
If I can make a change over the next 12 weeks, a change for the better, then wouldn’t that also help others with similar concerns?
I know that everyone is different and the changes I make to my lifestyle may not have the same effect on you as they have on me; however, what I’ll be doing is not rocket science, not difficult and defintely not harmful so, give it a go, follow me on my journey and see where it gets you.
The intentions of this website are:
- To journal the changes I make to my lifestyle over the next 3 months
- To discover beneficial changes in behavior and diet to make my weight loss easy, achievable and maintainable
- To get better and to avoid future health concerns by finding out what causes my current patterns and changing them for the better
